ANNA HOWLETT

I’m a Gold Coast–based Forensic Psychologist and co-founder of The Lavarack Rooms, with over a decade of experience supporting adults through a wide range of mental health challenges. My work spans forensic settings, private practice, and complex presentations, giving me a deep understanding of how people think, feel, and cope across different stages of life.

My therapeutic style is grounded, warm, and genuinely human. I aim to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and safe enough to explore what’s happening beneath the surface. The work we do together is collaborative. I bring clinical expertise, and you bring your lived experience. From there, we build clarity, direction, and practical tools that support meaningful change.

I have a particular passion for women’s health, including fertility and reproductive mental health, the transition into parenthood, and the emotional load that comes with navigating identity, relationships, and life’s major shifts. I also work extensively with trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation, and the complex patterns that often sit beneath these experiences.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I draw from a range of evidence-based models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills training, strengths-based practice, and person-centred frameworks to tailor our work to your unique needs.

My aim is simple: to understand your world, help you make sense of the patterns shaping your wellbeing, and support you in building the resilience, clarity, and confidence needed to move forward in your life.
